TRT-5180 Common Technical Issue

These are the 5 most common technical issues and how to resolve them.

  1. Battery Issues:

    1. Battery not holding a charge, visible swelling or damage to battery, or the tablet not functioning without being connected to a charger.
      1. Try a known good battery from another tablet of the same model. If the unit still exhibits these behaviors, a battery replacement is likely necessary. Reach out to support for further assistance.
  2. Driver updates:

      1. Are drivers missing after OS reinstallation or due to corruptions? Are certain devices not detected correctly? Try reinstalling the device drivers. They can be found at: https://support.teguar.com/teguar-drivers. Ensure you choose the drivers for your specific size of TRT-5180, as the drivers are different for each size.
  3. Screen/Display Problems:

      1. Display issues such as banding, ghosting, or flickering are usually indicative of hardware failure. If the OS on the device is Windows, check Windows Updates for any newer version of the Graphics drivers. In some instances, there are potential available updates which can resolve display issues. They sometimes appear in the “Optional Updates” section of Windows Updates. Please contact support for further assistance if there are no available updates or if any available updates do not resolve the issue.
      2. Any physical damage to the display will need to be sent in for repair through our R<A process. Reach out to support for this process.
  4. Failure to Power On:

      1. The battery indicator light is not illuminating when the device is plugged in for charging.
        1. Try another known good charger. The charger itself may have failed. If the light still does not illuminate, the motherboard or charging port may have failed. Reach out to support for further assistance.
  5. Operating System Issues:

      1. On-screen keyboard not showing up:
        1. Select Start and Settings.
        2. Select Devices.
        3. Select Typing.
        4.  Turn ON Show the touch keyboard or handwriting panel when not in tablet mode and there’s no keyboard attached.
